Lu Yue

Lu Yue, born in 1970 in Beijing, is a freelance artist currently residing in Chiang Mai, Thailand. He studied at the Beijing Academy of Arts and Crafts from 1986 to 1989, and later worked in animation production and game design from 1992 to 2004, gaining extensive experience in digital arts. From 2004 to 2010, he served as a visiting lecturer in digital media at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, sharing his creative knowledge and skills.

In 2017, Lu Yue moved to Chiang Mai, where the city’s ancient temples and natural landscapes deeply inspired him. He began creating small works that blend meticulous gongbi painting with sketching, reflecting his imagination of mysterious and fantastical worlds. His representative series, Divine Bottle Island, features serene and eternal island scenes, symbolizing the suspension of time and existence beyond reality. His art practice combines traditional and modern elements, bridging Eastern and Western influences, resulting in a unique artistic language.
