Michael Caning

Michael Canning is a contemporary Irish artist known for his poetic and nature-inspired works that blend painting and drawing. Born in 1971 in County Limerick, he studied at the Limerick School of Art and Design and later at the University of Ulster. Canning’s art often features delicate botanical forms, particularly flowers and plants, set against rich, textured backgrounds. His work explores themes of memory, time, and the natural world, drawing influence from both Irish landscapes and classical painting traditions. Canning has exhibited widely in Ireland and abroad, and his pieces are included in major public and private collections.
