Song Xiaoke

This particular series of works stems from my infinite awe of nature. I have a habit of collecting materials from the natural world, and when picking them, I only choose those that do not appear in their usual form or those with imperfections. The ones that look too “normal” never make it into my selection. Usually, when I create a small monster, I base it on the shapes of the materials I’ve gathered. These little things fit so naturally onto the monster, as if they were born to pair with it, or perhaps, they were always part of the same entity. The degree of harmony sometimes astonishes me.
