As the first session of the “CHAO ART TALK” series, we are honored to have Mr. Zhang Zikang, Director of the Art Museum of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, as our guest speaker. Starting from the current state of museum systems in China and abroad, Mr. Zhang compares the structures of Chinese and Western museums, highlighting several issues within China’s museum framework. Focusing on the academic foundation of museums, he emphasizes the need for museums to establish their own academic systems and to promote the artistic value of artworks. Meanwhile, he also shares his insights on the relationship between museums and the art market.
