In Utopia 3.0, Yan Lei assembles the images and ready-made objects he has collected over many years on a conveyor-belt-like apparatus that rotates in continuous motion: the God of Wealth, a cross, a car door, books… Through this mechanism, the artist allows these “fragments” to acquire an overall sense of being “produced” and “displayed.”
