Fu Dan

Tie, 2010, Silk, 146 × 9 cm

This is a 100% silk men’s necktie, with a line of gold lettering on the back that reads “Auto-erotic Asphyxiation.” Its packaging is a specially customized silk-covered box. The design originates from the 2010 exhibition Autoerotic Asphyxiation at Artists Space in New York, for which Fu Dan created the first version of the tie as the exhibition’s invitation. The ties were produced in different sizes and colors.
