Wu Zhen

Sun Wukong (The Money King) is my idol—wild and untamed, yet deeply loyal. His fiery eyes often bring him suffering, but without his loyalty and abilities, how could the true scriptures be obtained? The feeling of facing a vast expanse of fabric reminds me of Sun Wukong returning to his Flower-Fruit Mountain.

As an editor, I work with words and contemplate the themes of books; at home, I am surrounded by many sculptures created by my husband. When I touch pieces of soft fabric, their texture and color not only bring visual delight but also a sense of security. One day, I thought of using the tens of tons of fabric I’ve accumulated over decades to build my own Flower-Fruit Mountain, imagining myself tumbling and flipping within it, creating a world that belongs entirely to me.
