Artist
Pang Bo
Pang Bo, born in 1995 in Harbin, received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Printmaking Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He currently lives and works in Beijing. His work primarily employs painting as a medium and takes public imagery as its subject of inquiry. Centered on issues such as “aesthetic alienation,” “recognition,” and “the deconstruction and reconstruction of symbols,” I transform images in connection with my personal life experiences. During the creative process, I also re-examine the relationship between painterly language and algorithmic aesthetics in found images, as well as the shifting meanings of images within today’s fluid contexts.
